  • Coordinate and organize all payroll input documents received from the Operations monthly
  • Capture payroll changes including new engagements and terminations
  • Interface payroll files for mass changes on VIP People Payroll
  • Interface Kronos variable input and reconcile output to VIP People Payroll
  • Review Kronos time and attendance exceptions, and resolve queries with Line Management
  • Perform payroll calculation and review processing.
  • Capture 3rd Party changes and liaise with 3rd Party vendors on queries
  • Submit all medical aid changes to The People Company
  • Extract Payroll statutory reports, and reconcile for payment.
  • Produce Payroll Reports required by the business
  • Distribute payslips
  • Support HR with payroll matters, and resolve queries
  • Set up tables and update hierarchy changes on VIP People
  • Review employee payroll data to ensure data is accurate
  • Roll over payroll into new month and validate process
  • Run SARS validation reports monthly and update exceptions



  • Have a minimum Grade 12 qualification, ideally with a Payroll Certificate from a recognised institution. Preference will be given to a candidate with relevant tertiary qualification


  • Have a minimum of 5 Years’ experience in a large payroll environment (1000 plus) with full payroll function. We are looking for a proven track record and a stable career history
  • Have experience in any Payroll System, preferably VIP People
  • Have experience in any Time and Attendance system, preferably Kronos
  • Have experience with managing a significant payroll with high volumes of salary input


  • Have in-depth knowledge of payroll legislation including ability to calculate PAYE
  • Have a full understanding of all aspects of payroll.
  • Have basic accounting knowledge which is relevant to payroll requirements of reporting
  • Have a high level of computer literacy and be proficient in the use of MS Office applications (very competent in Excel including Vlook Up and Pivot table functions)
